“Camellia sinensis”
Tea is the dried leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant, a small tree in the Theaceae family. White Tea, Green Tea and Black Tea such as many other Teas are all from the same plant.
This plant contains biochemical compounds called polyphenols, which include flavonoids. The latter are also found in fruits and vegetables and are antioxidants, which prevents the degeneration of cells, responsible for more than 50 diseases.
The nearly 3,000 tea varieties that exist all over the world differ in flavour and characteristics depending on the geographical area of origin, atmospheric conditions, quality, and even the altitude at which it is produced.
